Birding Trip at IISER Berhampur Campus
On 12th December 2022, Club Oasis organized a birding trip within the IISER Berhampur campus, aimed at encouraging participants to engage with the local avian biodiversity. The trip provided an opportunity for nature enthusiasts to explore the various bird species inhabiting the campuss diverse ecosystems. Participants were guided by experienced members and had the chance to spot and identify a range of birds in their natural habitats. The trip was designed to enhance awareness about the ecological significance of birds and promote environmental conservation through active observation and learning. Exploring the Avian Diversity at IISER Berhampur
On the 12th of December 2022, Club Oasis organized a birding trip on the IISER Berhampur campus to explore and appreciate the rich avian biodiversity found within the campus and its surrounding environment. The event was aimed at offering participants the opportunity to observe and identify local bird species while learning about their habits and the ecological significance of the campus as a habitat for diverse birdlife. The trip was designed not only to be an enjoyable outing but also an educational experience that deepened participants connection to nature and fostered a greater understanding of the importance of preserving bird habitats.
Early Morning Birdwatching
The birding trip began early in the morning, taking advantage of the calm and active hours of dawn when birds are most commonly seen and heard. As participants gathered near the designated birdwatching spots, they were introduced to various birding techniques and tools, such as binoculars and field guides, to aid in spotting and identifying the species. Among the most notable sightings were Parakeets, Sparrows, Mynas, Egrets, and Brahminy Kites, all of which contributed to the lively atmosphere of the morning. The birding experience also included discussions on the migration patterns of certain species and the importance of conserving habitats to ensure the survival of these birds and other wildlife.
