Promoting Environmental Awareness

On the 14th of March 2023, Oasis Club organized a Poster Pasting event on the IISER Berhampur campus, with the aim of spreading awareness about critical environmental issues and promoting sustainable practices. The event involved students, researchers, and faculty members who came together to display informative and creative posters highlighting various environmental challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, plastic pollution, and conservation efforts. This activity provided a platform for participants to express their ideas, raise awareness, and foster a sense of responsibility toward the environment.

Design and Creativity in Action

Participants were encouraged to design and create posters that creatively depicted important environmental issues and solutions. The posters were made using sustainable materials, and the themes ranged from promoting tree plantation to advocating for reduced plastic use, wildlife conservation, and the importance of renewable energy. The event not only focused on raising awareness but also highlighted the power of visual media in communicating complex ideas in an accessible and impactful way.

Engaging the Campus Community

The poster-pasting activity was set up around key spots on the IISER Berhampur campus, ensuring maximum visibility. As students and faculty walked by, they were able to engage with the posters, read the informative content, and reflect on the urgent environmental challenges we face. The event sparked discussions among passersby, with many students expressing interest in learning more about the topics presented and discussing potential solutions.

The event concluded with a brief session where participants reflected on the significance of environmental awareness and the role each individual plays in addressing global issues. Oasis members encouraged the campus community to not only think about environmental challenges but also take concrete actions in their daily lives, such as reducing waste, conserving resources, and supporting sustainability initiatives
