Participation in Invenio

Science Fest Online Phase

Invenio, the annual science fest at IISER Berhampur, brought together students from across India to celebrate science and discovery, with a special focus on ecology and environmental awareness. Organized by Oasis, a prominent science club at IISER, the event began with an online phase that engaged participants in a quiz on ecological topics and challenges such as biodiversity, ecosystems, and global environmental issues. The second round invited participants to analyze and propose solutions to pressing ecological problems like habitat loss, pollution, and climate change. This initiative not only fostered a competitive spirit but also deepened participants understanding of ecology and its real-world applications. The online phase was a resounding success, setting the stage for an impactful in-person event that emphasized community engagement and ecological resilience.

Invenio: Bringing Ecology to the Forefront

Invenio, the annual science fest at IISER Berhampur, brought students together from across India in a celebration of science and discovery. Oasis, as one of the institutes active science clubs, was thrilled to take part and contribute to the event with a focus on ecology and environmental awareness. The event began with an online phase, open to participants both within and outside IISER Berhampur, marking a significant outreach initiative. An official email invitation was circulated widely, and soon, students from various institutes signed up, eager to test their knowledge and engage with real-world ecological issues.

Testing Knowledge: The Ecology Quiz Round

The first round of the online phase was a quiz that challenged participants on core topics in ecology. The questions covered a range of subjects, from biodiversity and ecosystems to global environmental issues. This round was designed to be thought-provoking and informative, encouraging students to connect theoretical ecology to real-world applications. The enthusiastic participation reflected the students' readiness to engage with these crucial topics, creating a lively competition as they navigated through each question.

Diving Deeper: Problem-Solving and Projective Questions

For the second round, the focus shifted to descriptive and projective questions aimed at assessing students understanding of ecological challenges and potential solutions. Participants were tasked with analyzing and proposing solutions for environmental issues, such as habitat loss, pollution, and climate change. Their responses highlighted creative, positive, and solution-oriented approaches to real-world problems, showcasing a shared commitment to mitigating global ecological crises. Through this phase, students demonstrated not only their knowledge but also their passion for contributing to ecological resilience.

The online phase of Invenio was a major success, fostering a spirit of collaboration and engagement across institutions. Participants left with a deeper appreciation for ecologys role in addressing global challenges, and Oasis members felt encouraged by the positive feedback received. By the time the event reached its final phase at IISER Berhampur, the groundwork had been laid for a vibrant in-person interaction that would continue to inspire ecological awareness and scientific inquiry among young minds
