Guided by Team Oasis, the students learned about diverse species, their habitats, and ecological significance, inspiring conversations about nature and conservation. The experience left them motivated and eager to learn more, reinforcing IISER Berhampurs goal of nurturing a passion for science and discovery in future generations.

STREAM 2020: Igniting a Passion for Science
At the annual outreach event STREAM 2020Science to Reach Everyone and Motivateheld by IISER Berhampur, the goal was clear: inspire local school students to explore the wonders of science. Aimed at students from class 1 to 8, the event welcomed children from various government schools in the region, creating an energetic atmosphere filled with curiosity and excitement. The event brought together all student clubs, with Oasis playing an impactful role in introducing young minds to the richness of the natural world.
A Window into Berhampurs Biodiversity
Team Oasis captivated the young visitors with a beautifully illustrated chart showcasing the biodiversity found in and around Berhampur. The detailed depictions of local flora and fauna fascinated the students, giving them a glimpse into their regions ecological richness. As they gathered around the display, many of them were seeing this level of biodiversity for the first time. The Oasis members explained the significance of each species and its habitat, sparking questions and conversations that made the children eager to know more about the world around them.
Connecting Curiosity with Conservation
Guided by Oasis members, the young students learned about the role of different species in maintaining ecological balance and the importance of conservation efforts.
