Eco Innovation - An Initiative

The Upcycled Garden Challenge

The idea was simple yet inspiring: gather scraps from around the housethings youd normally throw awayand use them to create your own upcycled home or balcony garden. The challenge was to be as inventive as possible, turning discarded items into unique planters for herbs, spices, or lentils from the kitchen. From repurposing old jars, cans, and broken containers to using leftover wood or plastic, the goal was to craft a garden space that not only minimized waste but also brought fresh greenery into the home. It was a chance to look at everyday "junk" with fresh eyes and grow something new and sustainable right at home.

The Upcycled Garden Challenge

Transforming Waste into Green Spaces

The idea behind the Upcycled Garden Challenge was simple yet inspiring: gather household scraps that are usually discarded and repurpose them into creative planters for herbs, spices, or lentils. The challenge encouraged participants to think outside the box and explore how everyday waste could be reimagined as a thriving garden.

Repurposing Common Items

From old jars and cans to broken containers, leftover wood, and even plastic bottles, the challenge inspired participants to use materials that would otherwise end up in the trash. With a little imagination and DIY spirit, these everyday items were transformed into functional planters, offering a unique, sustainable solution for growing plants at home or on the balcony.

Minimizing Waste and Growing Fresh Produce

By upcycling household materials, participants not only reduced waste but also brought fresh greenery into their living spaces. The project highlighted the beauty of sustainability and offered a hands-on way to grow herbs, spices, and lentils from the kitchenturning "junk" into something useful, green, and living.
