The formation of Oasis, the Eco Club of IISER Berhampur , in September 2019, was a pivotal moment in the institution's commitment to environmental conservation and ecological awareness. In response to the devastating effects of Cyclone Fani, which ravaged the region, Oasis was conceived under the guidance of Dr . Bodhisatta Nandy and Dr . Jose Sebastian. The club aimed to establish a collaborative platform for students, faculty , and community members, emphasizing the importance of preserving biodiversity , promoting sustainability , and fostering environmental consciousness. Over the years, Oasis has become a key player in advancing ecological advocacy within the academic community and beyond.
