STREAM (Science To Reach Everyone And Motivate) is the flagship event organized by the Publications and Outreach
Council of IISER Berhampur, in collaboration with all the student-run academic clubs of the institute. This event aims
to inspire and engage students from various schools by showcasing the fascinating applications of science in everyday
life.
During the STREAM event at IISER Berhampur, La Vida played a significant role by hosting an engaging and
educational exhibit featuring a model of a phantom hand. This exhibit was specifically designed to teach children from
classes 7 to 9 from the neighbouring areas about the fascinating phenomenon of phantom limb sensations.
The phantom hand model was the centre piece of La Vida's exhibit. Children were invited to participate in an
interactive demonstration where they placed their real hand out of sight using a blindfold. This activity demonstrated
how the brain can be tricked into perceiving a limb that isn't physically present.
